It is that time of year where I love to take pictures of various insects especially dragonflies.
I felt like a flycatcher or more precisely a gnatcatcher yesterday at this marsh. There were so many gnats.
The pictures of these Turkey Vultures were taken in Doodletown near Bear Mountain, New York. The picture of these Turkey Vultures were taken with the CANON EOS7D and the CANON 100-400mm lens.
This is one of the first times that I have been lucky enough to be able to take pictures of a Turkey Vulture preening and looking very grand!
I so enjoyed watching the sunset at the Basha Kill in Wurtsboro New York while watching the many male and female Red-winged Blackbirds perform their evening antics.
I used the Canon 100 macro lens on a Canon EOS 20 camera. This is what I use to take macro pictures and since I was carrying it along with my usual rig and since this guy was so close, I decided to give it a try. If only wild birds usually came this close to the camera – what fun that would be!
Nothing like a baby to be so cute!
It is such a treat to have so many Yellow Warblers at the Jamaica Bay National Wildlife Refuge singing away during this breeding season.
