The picture of this Northern Cardinal was taken at the New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx New York. The picture of this was taken with the CANON EOS7D and the CANON 100-400mm lens and the CANON 580EXII flash.
I really enjoy pictures of birds in snow. They look so pristine against a white background especially this white bird.
This Red-Tailed Hawk landed on the railing of my balcony in the East Village. Does not get much better than this when I can take a picture of a Red-tailed Hawk from the warmth of my livingroom.
I still cannot believe that this bird landed right on the rail of my balcony on the 12th floor in the East Village and I was there to see him at 8:30 in the morning. He was comfortably perched checking out the hood and of course the many little house sparrows, pigeons and starlings one can see from my balcony.
My camera was conveniently ready to go,including my tripod, which I really needed since I was shaking with excitement. More pictures to come.
I have (also) been taking pictures of the Siberian Tigers at the Bronx Zoo for many years and was especially delighted when the three cubs were born last May. If you would like to see more pictures of these Tiger, I have recently put them up on a new site. I took this picture just after sunrise and was able to get more detail in the black feathers of this bird. I was impressed on how this American Crow was able to securely perch on this delicate bush for quite awhile – at least in photography measured moments.
The picture of this Yellow-throated Warbler was taken with the CANON EOS7D and the CANON 100-400mm lens and the CANON 580EXII flash.
This was a difficult capture because the bird was very shy, very fast and very small.
I was on a boat tour of the 10,000 islands at Everglades National Park that runs out of Everglades City when I took this picture. This Pelican could be the posterbird for Florida.
