Stuyvesant Cove is a small local park in the East Village right on the East River. Much care is taken in the landscaping and excellent gardening and there are many wildflowers and special trees. During the Summer months, the opportunity to photograph birds slows down for awhile and the butterflies and dragon flies are abundant. We are loving to go to Ward Pound Ridge in Westchester to photograph this beautiful creatures. We went to Ward Pound Ridge last Friday and practically had the park to ourselves.

After four straight days of rain, we ventured to Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge early Saturday morning at sunrise. The air was condensed insects. The birds were so happy and lively. I kept my mouth shut and took lots of pictures. I think that this Brown Thrasher is keeping his mouth open in order to consume a large protein filled brunch.
