There were lots of Yellow-rumped Warblers at the Jamaica Bay Naitonal Wildlife Refuge this past weekend enjoying the assortment of berries especially on this cedar tree.
It is getting more difficult to get a picture of the fall migrating warblers as the season slows down. I was happy to be able to spend some time with a couple of Blackpoll Warblers in the maintenance yard in Central Park yesterday as they popped into view for moments at a time.
Warblers and other fall migrants are starting to stop off in the green places in New York City on their journey south. Central Park is one of my favorite places to view and photograph warblers during this season. Other than trees, the many fences in Central Park are popular perching places for these birds.
