Snow Goose in flight

It might seem that this picture was a lucky accident. I took lots of pictures of the Snow Geese in flight. There were hundreds of Snow Geese at Jamaica Bay National Wildlife Refuge this past Saturday.

Wood Duck male

The Wood Duck is one of the most beautiful ducks that I see and am always thrilled to be able to get a good picture.

Common Merganser female

It is so cool to take a pictuer of a bird standing on the ice. It is easy to see all of the lovely details of this pretty duck.

Mallard Ducks fighting

It is always exciting to be able to “stop” water with the camera. These two ducks were going at eachother for quite awhile and were in close proximity.

White-throated Sparrow on Ice

This White-throated Sparrow was sliding around on the thick layer of ice that covered the park.
